Job Title: Senior Project Planner

Alstom is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Planner to join our team. As a key member of the Project Core Team, you will be responsible for supporting the scheduling teams and providing reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage planning teams in a multi-project context and provide reporting.
  • Maintain project/program schedules using best practices, including reflecting project execution strategy, capturing entire scope of work, setting reasonable activity durations, and logically sequencing and linking all activities.
  • Manage efficiently planning deliverable issuance.
  • Facilitate synchronization and communication of internal stakeholders.
  • Report proactively schedule progress to various stakeholders (customer, core team, corporate).
Main Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to Earned Value Management with the Finance Project Manager.
  • Contribute to project baseline and ensure its acceptance (internally and by the Customer).
  • Ensure consistency of all internal and external stakeholders' commitments and manage schedules interface.
  • Perform schedule analysis & trade-offs to close identified gaps or schedule issues.
  • Organize periodic project schedule sessions.
  • Provide timely updated schedule situation highlighting the gap between actual and baseline.
  • Focus on early identification of potential delays (critical paths) including status on risks and margin related to schedule.
  • Prepare schedule and progress reports for Customer or Lead Unit or Partners.
  • Provide support to Project Core Team on potential issues related to project schedule.
  • Apply Project Scheduling Process.
  • Promote time management practices awareness in the project team.
  • Contribute to return of experience (REX) and improvements, share best practices, schedule templates.
Performance Measurements:
  • Baseline approved (internally and by the Customer).
  • Regular and consistent scheduling updates, with potential delays analysis.
  • Delivery on-time delivery of KPIs (OTD, Gate Reviews GO on time, sales, cash, ...) and planning documents.
  • Standard metrics measuring schedule robustness (PSI - Project Schedule Integrity).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 7-10 years' experience as PrPM / SSM / Project Development Planning Manager / Reporting Manager.
  • Project Management and industrial background.
  • Experience in complex projects (Design-build).
  • Used to work with internal processes (Tenders, Projects, Engineering, Industrial, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, and their interfaces).
  • Project scheduling processes.
  • Worked with resource load schedule (material, manpower, etc.), Schedule of Values (SOV), Earned Value Management (EVM).
Competencies & Skills:
  • Primavera P6 and MS-Project software skills are mandatory.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency, particularly MS-Excel.
  • Desirable overall knowledge of railway products and systems.
  • Agility to juggle schedules (detailed execution and customer schedules) simulations and various scenarios, and changing project goals.
  • Forensic planning.
  • Rigorous, structured, and sense of anticipation.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, resilience, and team working spirit.
  • Conflict management and multi-taking.
  • Collaborative management.
  • Be able to challenge the project team and highly proactive in proposing solutions.
  • Comfortable in an international and multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, trustworthy, and self-motivated, self-starter.
