- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care.
- Ensure Resident Safety and Well-being
- Ensure timely and safe resident transfers and discharges.
- Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics.
- Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate Nursing Care
- Assess the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the needs of residents.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare team members.
- Education and Certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Knowledge and Experience
- Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and other relevant legislation.
- Experience working in a long-term care setting.
