About the Role

The City of Calgary is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Consultant, Organizational Development to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in supporting the Planning and Development Services department in their organizational development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop Change Management Strategies: Collaborate with project teams to develop comprehensive change management strategies, including impacted and interested parties analyses, socialization plans, and recommended adoption approaches.
  2. Create Change Management Plans: Develop clear and concise change management plans that interpret technical changes in plain language, establish impacted groups, and build alignment and understanding on required support.
  3. Lead Change Management Initiatives: Take a leadership role in coordinating the people-side of change, working closely with project teams, communications, learning and development, and the business to identify tactics, track progress, and enable end-user adoption.
  4. Coach Staff in Change Competencies: Coach staff in developing change competencies, including ADKAR methodology, visible sponsorship, change leadership, storytelling, facilitation, and adopting a user-focused end-to-end approach.
  5. Measure and Report on Project Success: Measure and report on project success from a change management/adoption perspective, providing recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
  1. A degree combined with at least 5 years of related experience, including sound knowledge and experience in change management approaches and practices.
  2. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  3. Prosci Certification will be considered an asset.
  4. Experience in applying Prosci's 3-phase change management approach would be considered an asset.
  5. Experience in supporting change management for process, policy, or technology projects would be considered an asset.
