Environmental Research Professor in Caribbean Studies

We are seeking an exceptional Environmental Research Professor in Caribbean Studies to join our faculty at the University of Toronto. This tenure-stream position is a joint appointment between the School of the Environment and the Centre for Caribbean Studies, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to interdisciplinary research and teaching.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental studies, with a focus on the Caribbean region. They will be expected to conduct innovative research on the nexus of environment and climate change in the Caribbean, exploring themes such as ecological crises, sustainable futures, and intersectional approaches to gender justice. The professor will also teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise students, and engage in community outreach and policy development.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have earned a PhD degree with expertise in critical Caribbean environmental issues. They must demonstrate excellence in research, teaching, and supervision, with a proven track record of high-impact publications and presentations. Experience in community action, conservation, or resource management in the Caribbean region is highly valued.
