Job Title: Educational Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at the Upper Canada District School Board. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with exceptional needs in our schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with exceptional needs, including those with learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities, or physical challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, learning resource teachers, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Assist with the instruction of individual and/or groups of students in an academic and/or integrated class environment.
  • Oversee special education students and implement special education programs related to behavior, communication, intellectual, or physical needs.
Requirements:
  • Secondary school diploma and two-year or three-year Community College Diploma in a related field, such as Child & Youth Worker, Registered Early Childhood Educator, Behavioral Science Technician, or Educational Assistant.
  • Behavior Management Systems (BMS) training/certification is an asset.
  • Related work experience is an asset.
