About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Educator to join our team at Home and Community Care Support Services. As a Palliative Care Educator, you will play a key role in developing, delivering, and evaluating training and education programs for our staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in ongoing education needs assessment and develop an annual and ongoing multi-year education plan.
  • Assist with preparation and monitoring of budget in conjunction with management.
  • Develop and deliver standard education to target groups identified.
  • Deliver standard and advanced level programs to regulated healthcare professionals and others.
  • Evaluate programs on an ongoing basis and ensure continuous quality improvement in educational content and delivery.
  • Develop working/operational resource manuals/files as required.
  • Ensure accurate and relevant information for regulated healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse and member of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • University degree preferred in nursing.
  • CNA certification in Hospice Palliative Care Nursing essential (or working towards).
  • Knowledge and understanding of adult education principles.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in delivery or mentoring re: Palliative Care.
  • Membership with OHPCA or CHPCA.
  • Vehicle and valid Ontario driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in continuing education and/or professional development.
  • Ability to speak French or another second language.
  • Proficiency in preparing proposals, budgets, reports, and making presentations.
  • Editing skills to be used in developing training materials.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
