Community Support Specialist

At Brockville and District Association for Community Involvement, we are seeking a Community Support Specialist to join our team. As a Community Support Specialist, you will work alongside facilitators and families to provide direct support to individuals with intellectual disabilities to pursue their goals in the community.

The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license, insurance, and a safe vehicle. They will also have a vulnerable sector and police check verified within the last 90 days, as well as full vaccination for COVID-19.

The Community Support Specialist will establish strong relationships and rapport with the individuals and families they support, and will work to develop and implement strategies for meeting new people and engaging potential mentors and community opportunities.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or education in community development, social support work, or a related field, and will be able to use various effective communication skills to establish strong relationships and rapport with the individuals and families they support.

Compensation for this role will begin at $22.00 per hour, and training will be provided. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
