Hydro One Networks Inc is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Co-Op Student to join our team in the Protection Systems department. As a Co-Op Student, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and gain valuable experience in the field of electrical engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the design of protection systems for the transmission grid, including power studies, integrating intelligent electronic devices (IEDs), and configuring settings for IEDs.
- Work under the supervision of a protection engineer to assist with projects, including mark up of drawings, implementing logic diagrams, and processing configurations.
- Collaborate with control engineers to assist with the design of control systems, including mark up of drawings, creating and issuing configuration files, and point verification scheduling and testing.
- Work with metering engineers to assist with the design of metering circuits, creating documentation, and calculating site-specific load adjustments and measurement error correction losses.
- Discipline: Electrical Engineering
- Academic Level: 3rd year and above
- Aptitude to learn and adapt to new technologies
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
