Job Description

Phasor Engineering Inc. is a dynamic company specializing in engineering, design, and testing/commissioning of high voltage electrical facilities. Our focus is to incorporate the latest technological advances to provide cost-effective and efficient solutions to power system engineering.

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Transmission Systems Design Engineer (EIT) or Intermediate Transmission Systems Design Engineer to join our engineering team. We offer a dynamic work environment with an experienced technical team, where you will be fully involved in all aspects of the engineering and design process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and engineering execution of transmission projects.
  • Assist in the design of overhead and underground power delivery systems ranging from 4kV to 500kV.
  • Interact with internal/external contacts for design details.
  • Support Professional Engineers with technical studies and/or calculations.
  • Develop material and construction specifications.
  • Provide procurement support, material take-offs, requisitions, and technical evaluations.
  • Develop overhead and underground structures and equipment structure spotting.
  • Design and evaluate various electrical equipment components.
  • Aid in the preparation of design packages for client reviews and construction.
  • Escalate design issues to Professional Engineers for review and direction.
  • Perform calculations related to the design of overhead and underground systems.
  • Review of designs to ensure accuracy, perform quality control and quality checks prior to project release.
  • Support project coordination documentation and activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals.
  • Carry out site visits with Professional Engineers to support engineering and construction.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in construction and/or construction support is an asset.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (CSA, IEEE etc.) preferred.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
