Job Summary

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the healthcare team by providing clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning patient care, comfort, and safety. As a member of the Marshfield Clinic Health System team, the Medical Assistant must maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with procedures.

• Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans.

• Provides administrative support, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence.

• Collaborates with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and communication.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with AAMA or RMA certification required.

• Documented successful completion of courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Pharmacology required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association within three months of hire and one of the following certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license awarded by the State of Wisconsin.

Work Environment

The Medical Assistant will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, serving patients at various Marshfield Clinic Health System sites, including Stratford, Colby, Greenwood, and Neillsville.
