About the Role
The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director, Allied Health Clinical Practice to join our team. This is a key role that will support the development and implementation of allied health services across British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for allied health services, including professional practice, quality improvement, and health services delivery.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, Office of the Chief Nursing Officer, to develop and implement strategic plans for allied health services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with First Nations communities, provincial and regional partners, and other stakeholders to advance the interests of the FNHA.
- Provide consultative and advisory services to First Nations communities and FNHA provincial and regional partners regarding clinical practice, quality improvement, and health services delivery.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a health sciences discipline, preferably allied health profession, supplemented by at least eight (8) years' recent, related clinical and operational management experience in a complex health care environment.
- Current practicing registration with an applicable regulatory body.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of senior leadership experience with responsibilities for strategic programming in a management-level role, including supervision of allied health leaders and clinicians within an organization, across various communities within the Province of BC.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities, leadership, or organizations is an asset.
- Knowledge of First Nations cultures and backgrounds, and the understanding of how culture impacts on communication patterns, attitudes and approaches to health issues.
- Knowledge and the application of concepts, principles and theories of transcultural allied health to provide culturally safe nursing care.
- Knowledge of leading practices in leadership and leadership development.
