Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Prince Rupert Health Unit in Northern BC. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to provide compassionate patient care and work collaboratively with an interprofessional team.

About Us: Northern Health Authority covers a vast area of nearly 600,000 square kilometers, providing health services to over two dozen communities and 55 First Nation's communities. We deliver hospital and community-based healthcare for a population of approximately 300,000, employing more than 7,000 staff throughout the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care as part of an interprofessional team
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans for patients
  • Administer medications according to pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Participate in education and training opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses with one (1) year of recent, related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant (BCCNM)
  • Current, valid BC Driver's License

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills within the LPN defined scope of practice or patient population dependent on the nature of the caseload
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with people and their families
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others within the context of an interprofessional team

Benefits:

  • $64,142 - $83,342 per annum, depending on experience

Working Environment: The position requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to diverse populations. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting. You must be able to operate relevant equipment and computer applications efficiently.
