We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Primary Care Nurse Specialist to join our primary care team in the Coast Tsimshian communities of Metlakatla, Kitkatla, Hartley Bay, and Lax Kw'Alaams.

Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated healthcare professional to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment to patients in remote coastal communities. As an Advanced Primary Care Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions, initiating treatment, and prescribing medications as necessary.

About the Role
  • You will work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to identify and assess trends and patterns that impact patient outcomes.
  • You will develop and implement population-based strategies to improve health outcomes and participate in policy-making activities that influence healthcare services and practices.
  • You will provide professional guidance to other healthcare professionals and practice autonomously within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Requirements
  • You must have a Master's degree in nursing from a recognized institution and be eligible for registration as a nurse practitioner with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • You must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices.
  • You must be able to lead a team and work effectively in complex, dynamic situations.
