Job Title: Construction Project Superintendent

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Project Superintendent to join our team at Whelan Construction.

Job Summary:

The Construction Project Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors' activities to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Plan and organize daily operations, including scheduling and resource allocation
  • Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates and manage project finances
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers as needed
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schemas, and drawings
  • Plan and manage budgets, including direct and indirect costs
  • Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
  • Oversee the analysis of data and information to inform project decisions
  • Prepare reports and presentations to stakeholders
  • Resolve conflict situations and negotiate with stakeholders
  • Train staff and workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 5 years or more of experience in construction project management
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AutoCAD and MS Office skills
  • MS Project experience
  • Industrial, commercial, and institutional construction experience

The Construction Project Superintendent will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring strong organizational and time management skills.
