We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Project Superintendent to join our team at Whelan Construction.

Job Summary:

The Construction Project Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate subcontractors' activities, plan and organize daily operations, and prepare and submit construction project budget estimates.
  • Team Management: Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers, and train them in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Quality Control: Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control, and oversee the analysis of data and information.
  • Communication: Prepare reports, resolve conflict situations, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and MS Project, with knowledge of construction software and technologies.
  • Construction Specialization: Industrial, commercial, and institutional construction experience, with a focus on project management and coordination.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment, working under pressure, with tight deadlines, and a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication, flexibility, judgment, and a team player attitude.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in construction project management or a related field.
  • Permanent employment, 40 hours per week, with a valid driver's licence.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
