We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Superintendent to join our team at Whelan Construction. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination: Coordinate the activities of subcontractors and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Operational Planning: Plan and organize daily operations, including scheduling and resource allocation.
- Budgeting and Estimating: Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates, and manage budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
- Staff Management: Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers, and provide training and development opportunities.
- Scheduling and Progress Monitoring: Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Contract Management: Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements.
- Quality Control: Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control, and ensure that projects meet quality standards.
- Technical Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, schemas, and drawings, and have knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, and MS Project.
- Construction Specialization: Have experience in industrial, commercial, and institutional construction.
- Transportation and Travel: Possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to project sites.
- Work Environment and Physical Demands: Work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with tight deadlines, and be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Personal Suitability: Possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, be flexible, and have strong judgment and organizational skills.
- Experience: Have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, and be able to work 40 hours per week.
