We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Superintendent to join our team at Whelan Construction.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors' activities, planning and organizing daily operations, and preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate subcontractors' activities to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Operational Planning: Plan and organize daily operations to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Budgeting: Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers to ensure effective project execution.
  • Scheduling: Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Contract Management: Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements.
  • Quality Control: Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control to ensure high-quality project delivery.
  • Technical Skills: Read blueprint, schemas, and drawings to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Financial Management: Plan and manage budgets to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Procurement: Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions to ensure timely project execution.
  • Data Analysis: Oversee the analysis of data and information to inform project decisions.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports to stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflict situations to ensure effective project execution.
  • Training and Development: Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies to ensure effective project execution.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in construction project management.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
