About the Role

Chef MI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced cook to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as supervising kitchen staff and helpers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate special events and determine the size of food portions and costs
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, and prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas, and train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
  • Order supplies and equipment, and supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Clean kitchen and work areas, and organize buffets and banquets
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the culinary industry
  • Safe Food Handling certificate
