Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Booking Clerk/Secretary to join the Medical Imaging Cardiac Ultrasound team at Vancouver General Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide scheduling and booking services for clients and patients, including appointments, follow-up visits, tests, and referrals.
  • Maintain appointment calendars for designated physicians and healthcare professionals.
  • Prepare and confirm client/patient information, including data entry into computerized systems.
  • Arrange patient transportation and provide reception services, including greeting clients/patients and directing them to appropriate areas.
  • Perform clerical functions, including typing technical and non-technical materials, and maintaining departmental equipment, supplies, and filing systems.
  • Assist with timekeeping functions for designated staff.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12, two years of recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
