Your Opportunity

At the National Research Council Canada, we are seeking a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Health, Safety and Environment Branch, you will play a vital role in supporting our research centres and corporate branches in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and promote health, safety and environmental best practices to management and employees.
  • Partner with site and client teams to implement hazard prevention programs.
  • Assist in investigating hazardous occurrences and identifying causes and measures to prevent future incidents.
  • Contribute to the development of health, safety and environmental strategies and goals.
  • Work with clients to identify necessary resources and personal protective equipment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing safety programs in industrial or research environments.
  • Fine-tuned analytical and communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or industrial hygiene.
  • Significant experience in occupational health and safety.
  • Experience working in a scientific, engineering or industrial environment.

Language Requirements

English

Assessment Criteria

  • Technical competencies: knowledge of health and safety legislation, ability to interpret regulations and standards.
  • Behavioural competencies: client focus, communication, conceptual and analytical ability, results orientation, teamwork.

Compensation

$69,087 to $81,221 per annum
