Job Title: Front-end Developer

At RC Design Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled Front-end Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining custom websites and applications using modern technologies and WordPress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop custom websites and applications using modern technologies and WordPress.
  • Ensure that all applications meet AODA design standards.
  • Develop and maintain the architecture of applications and frameworks.
  • Perform routine maintenance and support of existing websites and applications.
  • Extend, manage, debug, and implement improvements to existing code.
  • Design and maintain databases.
  • Research project specifications and requirements as needed.
  • Attend client meetings as required.
  • Develop cross-browser compatible websites and applications.
  • Write clear, concise, and complete documentation on all changes to existing applications and new builds.
  • Ability to code closely to supplied graphic design layouts.
Experience/Education:
  • Industry-relevant university or college education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.
Technical Competencies:
  • HTML5, PHP, CSS3, SCSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.
  • Experience with REST API and JSON.
  • Extensive understanding of front-end frameworks, such as Bootstrap 4 and Foundation.
  • Experience with WordPress, including theme development, plugin customization, and template hierarchies.
  • Thorough understanding of Git version control.
  • Working knowledge of MySQL or similar.
  • Adept understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Methodologies.
  • Experience with hosting and DNS setup.
  • Comfort working in a WordPress multi-site environment.
  • Excellent ability to code as close as possible to supplied graphic layouts.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms and payment integration, such as WooCommerce.
  • Experience following code formatting standards.
  • Experience working with the MVC design pattern.

  • Experience with the Laravel framework.

  • Experience with e-mail marketing development.
  • Experience working with modern JS frameworks, such as Vue, Node, Angular, and React.
  • Superior project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
