Job Title: Principal Estimator - Labour and Material Costs Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Estimator to join our team at Whitemud Ironworks Limited. As a key member of our construction and engineering projects team, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, creating and submitting estimate reports, and advising on tendering procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms
  • Advise on tendering procedures
  • Analyze tenders and recommend awards
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  • Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates

Requirements:

  • Membership in the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors
  • Specialized environmental skills and knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field

Working Conditions:

  • 40 hours per week
