Job Title: Principal Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Estimator to join our team at Whitemud Ironworks Limited.

Job Summary:

The Principal Estimator will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, creating and submitting estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms, and advising on tendering procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects.
  • Develop and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms to clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on tendering procedures and strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Analyze tenders and recommend awards to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure projects are completed within budget.
  • Develop and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements:
  • Membership in the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
  • Specialized environmental skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Permanent employment with 40 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency.
