Nurse Practitioner

As a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients in the Orthopedic Department at the University of British Columbia Hospital. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment, leveraging your clinical skills and compassionate approach to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and clients, including diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions.
- Initiate treatment, including healthcare management, therapeutic interventions, and prescribing medications in accordance with statutory and regulatory standards.
- Provide professional guidance to other healthcare professionals and participate autonomously as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Collaborate with clients and other healthcare professionals to identify and assess trends and patterns that have implications for clients, families, and communities.
- Develop and implement population-based strategies to improve health and participate in policy-making and quality improvement activities that influence healthcare services and practices.
- Participate in peer, program, and self-review to evaluate the outcome of services at the client, community, and population level.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Four (4) years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
- Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
