Job Summary

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a skilled Indigenous Patient Advocate to join our team. This role requires a strong understanding of Indigenous culture and traditional healing practices, as well as excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and resolve health and human service complaints affecting patients, including accepting referrals and receiving complaints or requests for conflict resolution directly from patients.
  • Work closely with multi-sectoral partnerships within and beyond the health services sector to implement programs with community partners.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to address patient concerns, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • A minimum of three years related work experience with a Master's degree or five years related experience with a BSW or related discipline.
  • Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as writing reports at both lay and technical levels.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditional healing practices, as well as demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
