Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Indigenous Patient Advocate to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in receiving and resolving health and human service complaints affecting patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accept referrals and receive complaints or requests for conflict resolution directly from patients.
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to resolve complaints and improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction and experience.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years related work experience with a Master's degree or five years related experience with a BSW or related discipline.
  • Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs, writing of reports at both lay and technical levels, proposal writing, working with multi-sectoral partnerships within and beyond the health services sector, and implementing programs with community partners.

Education and Certification

  • Master's degree in Social Work, or relevant discipline required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, or relevant discipline with a minimum of 5 years' experience working in the healthcare field.
