Job Summary

The Shipping Supervisor will oversee all warehouse activities, ensuring efficient processes and high customer satisfaction through excellence in shipping, receiving, dispatching, and quality control of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and measure the effectiveness of warehousing activities.
  • Coordinate the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Verify orders, bills, items received, inventory transactions, and deliveries for accuracy.
  • Conduct daily warehouse inspections.
  • Organize and maintain inventory and storage areas.
  • Identify areas for improvement and establish/adjust work procedures and practices.
  • Coordinate and maintain fleets and equipment.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments and customers.
  • Lead and manage a team of 15-20 hourly employees.
  • Communicate job expectations, coach employees, and evaluate job performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and determine staffing levels.
  • Maintain records, report relevant information, and prepare documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to safety programs and promote a safe work environment.
  • Provide suitable training and tools for employees to perform their work safely and efficiently.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Degree in business, management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience as a warehouse supervisor or similar management position.
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.
  • Time management skills and ability to delegate.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and data entry software.
  • Computer literate with knowledge in warehouse management software.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Forklift license considered an asset.
