At Ontario Health, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Organ and Tissue Donation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in the donation process, working closely with families, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to facilitate the donation of lifesaving organs and tissues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct clinical assessments and evaluations to determine donor suitability
  • Establish collaborative approach plans with healthcare providers to enable every potential donor's family the opportunity to donate
  • Facilitate ongoing communication with the healthcare team and provide regular updates on the donation process as desired by the donor family
  • Support the healthcare team by requesting resources for tests or procedures required to determine medical suitability
  • Recover past medical history from multiple sources and negotiate OR resources to support the donor organ recovery surgery
  • Identify issues for follow-up and quality control and adherence to Health Canada directives
  • Work a variety of shifts, including on-call shifts with travel within the Kingston region and surrounding area

Requirements:

  • Nursing Diploma and/or Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum three years critical care and/or relevant organ and tissue donation experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Valid G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
