We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team at the East Coast Forensic Program. As a member of our team, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, consultation, and psychotherapy services to patients within our Psychiatric Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and other programs.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology, with a focus on forensic mental health and addictions. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of violence risk, personality, and cognitive skills, as well as providing treatment through individual and group settings.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Recognized MSc or PhD in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program
- Registered or eligible for registration with the NSBEP
- A minimum of two years relevant clinical experience is preferred
- Preference will be given to those individuals with violence risk assessment training/experience and those with experience in a forensic inpatient setting
- Formal training and clinical experience in adult mental health
- Formal training and clinical experience in conducting psychological and cognitive assessment and consultation
- The ability to work effectively with resistant and sometimes challenging client groups
- Experience and expertise in conducting structured clinical interviews and assessments
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in formulating and implementing treatment plans
- Self-directed in practice with an ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability and expertise in developing and presenting education programs to health care professionals and community organizations
- Experience with the provision of clinical supervision to students from psychology and other mental health disciplines
- Competencies in other languages is an asset, French preferred
This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary, with Masters candidates earning $49.05 per hour and PhD candidates earning a higher rate. Additionally, successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
