Job Title: Registered Practical NurseWe are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in the Secure Treatment Unit. The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of clinical issues in mental health and addiction, and will be responsible for providing supportive nursing care to patients in a secure treatment environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients' needs and develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide a safe and therapeutic environment, including crisis management and emergency nursing care.
- Collaborate with members of the treatment team to create individualized treatment and reintegration plans for patients.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to patient care and safety.
- Graduate of a recognized Diploma Program in Practical Nursing.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Previous nursing experience working in psychiatric/mental health specialization is preferred.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, and Substitute Decision Act.
- Safety and Security in the Workplace Training (candidate must agree to complete prior to start date if this qualification is not met).
- Valid drivers' license, if required.
- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension, and written expression. Bilingual is an asset.
- A competitive salary range of $35.36 to $37.05 per hour.
