Job Title: Senior Planner

At Vancouver Airport Authority, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our Facilities Maintenance Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective maintenance of our airport facilities and assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare weekly crew block work order scheduling and kitting of parts and materials
  • Meet regularly with Supervisors to review, discuss and reach consensus on crew block work order schedules
  • Communicate with Operations to request gate and bridge closures, as required
  • Meet with Maintenance Planners and Manager, Planning and Scheduling daily to review, discuss and action notes
  • Receive turnover packages from Engineering and other departmental Project Managers, ensuring the quality of information transitioned and that new assets, job plan, preventive maintenance records and warranty information is accurately entered into the CMMS
  • Prepare monthly budget forecast and accrual reports
  • Train all Maintenance users on the proper use of Maximo
  • Serve as a mentor and guide to the Maintenance Planners
  • Provide Skynet Timecard support for all MTE department
  • Work with Crew Manager in resource planning
Requirements:
  • At least five years' experience planning, inspecting, and evaluating preventative/repair maintenance needs of complex equipment and facilities, supplemented by the completion of a college certificate or diploma in engineering, technology, business or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Proven experience analyzing complex problems, evaluating alternatives and recommending effective courses of action, as well as developing and promoting work standards and processes
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles and methods of effective maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Expert level knowledge of: Core modules of Maximo (ie, Work Order Tracking, Assets, Job Plans, Preventive Maintenance) BI Reporting Tools (eg, AIRS) for budgeting and accrual reports MS Office (especially Excel) Building and managing schedules and shift change notices in Kronos
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills as this role works proactively and respectfully with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Class 5 provincial driver's license
