Job Title: Farm Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Operations Manager to join our team at Loleaf Farm. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our farm, ensuring the efficient and effective management of our livestock and crop production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clear fields of wood and stones to maintain optimal crop growth
  • Diagnose and treat livestock health issues to ensure the well-being of our animals
  • Direct agricultural crops deleafing activities to promote healthy plant growth
  • Direct farm feed inventory activities to ensure timely and accurate feeding of our livestock
  • Mark livestock as proof of ownership to maintain accurate records
  • Mix and apply fertilizer to promote healthy crop growth
  • Monitor the calving process to ensure the health and well-being of our animals
  • Monitor animal health to identify and address any potential issues
  • Oversee the activities of clearing the fields to maintain optimal crop growth
  • Perform animal grooming activities to maintain the health and well-being of our animals
  • Perform livestock feeding to ensure the nutritional needs of our animals are met
  • Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops to promote healthy growth
  • Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly and efficiently
  • Track and report on current feed inventory to ensure timely and accurate feeding of our livestock
  • Treat livestock health issues to ensure the well-being of our animals
  • Fertilize and spray crops to promote healthy growth
  • Harvest crops to ensure timely and efficient production
  • Feed and tend animals to maintain their health and well-being
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Maintain financial and production records to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers to ensure timely and efficient production
  • Maintain livestock performance records to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Maintain quality control and production records to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Milk cows to ensure timely and efficient production
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain a safe and healthy working environment
  • Maintain work records and logs to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Perform general farm duties to ensure timely and efficient production
  • Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market to ensure timely and efficient production
  • Operate machinery to ensure efficient and effective operations
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of experience in farm operations or a related field
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and bending
  • Standing for extended periods and walking
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling
