Service Department Coordinator

Brandt is seeking a highly skilled Lead Hand to join our team in Fort St. John. This role is responsible for coordinating and directing the workload of the Service department to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity while delivering high-quality repair work.
- Assign jobs and work areas to Service Department employees based on their skills and knowledge.
- Evaluate repair orders coming into the Service Department and participate in repairs as needed.
- Direct and assist technicians and apprentices in diagnosing machine problems.
- Inspect and repair special tools and recommend new tooling as required.
- Notify the Shop Foreman or Service Manager of customer complaints.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the appraisal of repair orders and participate in repairs.
- Direct and assist technicians and apprentices in the diagnosis of machine problems.
- Inspect and repair all special tools.
- Assist in the coordination and conducting of quarterly safety meetings.
- May fill the Shop Foreman's role in their absence.
- May arrange for and participate in the reconditioning of used equipment and setup of new equipment.
- May approve the release of equipment for delivery to customers.
- 5+ years' experience as a heavy duty service technician.
- Journeyman certificate required.
- Class 1 driver's license considered an asset.
- Forklift license preferred.
- Ability to work multiple shift patterns.
- Ability to lead others.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use standard desktop applications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
