Job Overview

Takeda, a global pharmaceutical company, is seeking an experienced Medical Affairs Director to lead our Canadian medical team. This role will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and managing medical team members in various departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans for medical affairs in Canada, ensuring alignment with global and local functions.
  • Team Management: Manage and develop a team of medical professionals, including Medical Liaison Managers, in the country.
  • Clinical Development: Oversee the development of clinical research plans, ensuring scientific integrity, GCP adherence, and strategic alignment with global and local functions.
  • Medical/Scientific Affairs: Ensure local medical activities are scientifically sound, within guidelines/directives, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on medical/scientific affairs function.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to gain comprehensive knowledge of the Canadian health and regulatory environment.
  • Extensive regulatory and compliance experience leading a medical/scientific affairs organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated track record and ability to drive results as an effective team member and project leader.
  • Champion for and experience in utilizing digital tools and supporting innovation.
Estimate Salary:

$150,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience.
