About This Role


We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice and support to our members and stakeholders.


Job Description



  • Provide high-quality legal services and expertise to OMA members and stakeholders, including contract review and negotiation, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the Director, Legal, in developing and implementing legal strategies to advance the interests of our members and the healthcare system.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including governance, communications, and advocacy, to ensure effective stakeholder engagement and issue management.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing laws and regulations, identifying areas of risk and vulnerability, and providing guidance to members and stakeholders.

Requirements



  • L.L.B/J.D. or equivalent law degree, with membership in the Law Society of Upper Canada.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in health law, contract, and/or corporate law.
