We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a member of our clinical team, you will collaborate with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participate in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solve problems, and share responsibilities.
The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, and treat patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. You will educate and communicate with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers with regard to health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and pain management.
The Physiotherapist will provide supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides. The incumbent may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio. Physiotherapists work on weekends in many areas of the hospital.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy from an accredited university, and membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body). Computer skills, including statistics input, word processing and Microsoft Outlook, are also required. Annual Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training and certification (WHMIS) is necessary. Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.

HoursThis is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The position works shifts over a 6 day per week schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Compensation and BenefitsThe successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $42.89. They may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
