Role Overview

Rio Tinto is seeking a highly skilled Aluminium Commercial Strategy Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Commercial group, you will play a crucial role in maximizing the value of our products and driving growth in the marketplace.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will see you formulate and shape the Aluminium Go-to-Market Commercial strategy aligned with Commercial Strategy, Group Strategy, and ESG objectives. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to develop coherent and cohesive Go-To-Market Strategies by analyzing commercial, industry, technical, and financial data to support value-creating business opportunities, decisions, and strategic directions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead teams of professionals to drive the strategic agenda and materialize possibilities
  • Envision, create, and syndicate the metals and minerals Go To Market strategy for Aluminium
  • Serve as the interface for internal stakeholders on key strategic interactions, ensuring strategies are well embedded in the way we develop offerings, markets, and customer relationships
  • Manage the Strategy & Planning process for Aluminium by working with the entire value chain to develop coherent and cohesive Go-To-Market Strategies
  • Generate cohesive thinking and constant feedback loops for the strategy via market development, technical marketing, and product management
  • Develop business cases for new commercial opportunities and initiatives, including investment thesis and conviction for organic and inorganic growth
  • Support senior and executive management on business reporting activities and synthesis of information for communication
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Equivalent; MBA beneficial
  • 8-10 years of prior experience in commercial strategy, consulting, and/or investment analysis
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen
  • Ability to present strategic ideas in a simple and digestible manner
  • Influencing skills with the ability to translate strategic and technical content into actionable insights
  • Possesses innate curiosity, observes empathetically, and enjoys creatively driven problem-solving
  • Ability to navigate and operate successfully in a matrix organization
  • Competencies in collaboration, listening, receiving, and providing feedback in a positive manner
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
