Epic Games is seeking a highly skilled Animation Lead to join our team working on Fortnite. As a key member of our animation team, you will be responsible for leading a growing team of animators, helping to drive the style and feel of Fortnite's animation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of animators and help mentor and drive the style and feel of Fortnite's animation
  • Take animation from initial concept through implementation in Unreal Engine
  • Create character-specific animations in Maya using our in-house rigs and tools
  • Work closely with individual Epic Art Leads and artists on the team to ensure downstream departments have all the information they need
  • Ensure animation assets are delivered and shipped successfully and on time
  • Be a point of contact for bug support, triage, and resolution of animation assets

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Maya and gameplay systems
  • Good instincts for realistic and stylized motions
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with the Unreal Engine 4 art pipeline
  • Related skills, such as modeling, skinning, rigging
  • Experience working with mocap data
  • Experience having shipped at least one title
  • User-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative
