Lead Animator Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Animator to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a key member of our animation department, you will be responsible for creating high-quality realistic character animations for in-game cinematics.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of character animation, timing, and storytelling. You will work closely with directors and other animators to achieve the desired storytelling and performance, bringing characters to life with expressive and realistic animation.

This is a leadership role that requires excellent communication and collaboration skills. You will mentor junior and mid-level animators, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative and growth-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create high-complexity and high-quality realistic character animations for in-game cinematics
  • Collaborate with directors and other animators to achieve desired storytelling and performance
  • Mentor junior and mid-level animators
  • Identify and solve technical and creative issues to maintain highest quality of animations
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience as a cinematic Animator for in-game content
  • Expert in animation software such as Maya, Motion Builder, or similar tools
  • Strong understanding of character animation, timing, and storytelling
  • Experience with motion capture data and techniques

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
