We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Personal Support Worker to join our team at Second Family Care. Our ideal candidate will have a PSW certificate, a clear enhanced police record check, and a caring and respectful manner with clients and co-workers.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with 'activities of daily life' (ADL's), including personal hygiene, incontinence care, dressing and grooming, light massage and passive range of motion (ROM), ambulation, positioning and transferring, feeding by mouth, and mouth care.
  • Assist with 'instrumental activities of daily life' (IADL's), including laundry and linen change, light housekeeping, meals and nutrition, and transportation planning.
  • Observe and report changes in conditions.
  • Provide companionship, social and emotional support.
  • Accompany clients on errands and to appointments.
  • Work with a professional healthcare team to follow a client's plan of care and goals.
  • Remind clients of medication.
  • Assist with mobility around the house or outside of the home.

Qualifications:

  • PSW certificate meeting technical and practical standards.
  • A clear enhanced police record check.
  • Able to acquire a valid CPR/BLS certificate.
  • Able to complete WHMIS training.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • A caring and respectful manner with clients and co-workers.
  • Act in a compassionate and supportive manner.
  • Support and enforce SFC health and safety standards.
