Job Summary

Scotiabank is seeking a Senior Manager Operations Technology to lead and oversee support for the North American books and records platforms under the GBME Securities Operations Technology portfolio. The successful candidate will ensure business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a geographically dispersed team.
  • Recruit qualified staff and identify and address training and development needs.
  • Drive a customer-focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships.
  • Foster a partnership between Operations Technology and the line functions.
  • Liaise with management regarding the status of ongoing programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure the maintenance of stable and secure processing platforms.
  • Manage delivery of support for assigned systems and internal business and technology stakeholders.
  • Work in tandem with Scotia Technology teams and external service providers to deliver Change.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary projects ensuring regulatory, compliance, client, and vendor issues are addressed.
  • Manage resource capacity and initiatives roadmaps with reference to Product Owners.

Requirements

  • Experience of a Capital Markets trading or operations environment.
  • Experience of the Operations function across static data, confirmations, settlements, and clearing.
  • Strong communication and influencing capability.
  • Expert experience in systems design, security, availability, disaster recovery.
  • Good knowledge of multiple global banking businesses.
  • Good communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

Preferred Certifications

  • Scrum, PRINCE2
