Job Summary

Mcewan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
  • Develop and implement new cooking techniques and menus to enhance the dining experience.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and waste to optimize profitability.
  • Collaborate with the head chef and other kitchen staff to plan and execute special events and menus.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
