Job Summary


We are looking for a seasoned archaeologist with expertise in heritage resource management to support our project managers and planners in managing heritage and archaeological risk. As a Senior Cultural Heritage Specialist, you will ensure compliance with heritage legislation, corporate policies, and industry best practices.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Support project managers and planners in managing heritage and archaeological risk
  • Oversee heritage and archaeological consultants and engage with internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Manage heritage resources efficiently and identify process improvements
  • Built effective working relationships with departmental peers and external regulatory partners


Requirements:



  • A degree in anthropology or archaeology, plus five years working as an archaeologist in B.C.
  • Certification as a Professional Member of the British Columbia Association of Professional Archaeologists (BCAPA) and a B.C. Heritage Conservation Act Permit holder
  • A thorough understanding of the B.C. Heritage Conservation Act and familiarity with the Archaeology Branch and BC Energy Regulator Heritage Processes
  • Confident interpersonal and public speaking skills for small meetings and larger presentations
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft suite of tools and GIS mapping systems

Salary Range: $93,300 - $115,800 per annum


Location: Flexible work program available, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
