Health Care Assistant

Job Summary:
Senior Helpers of Kelowna is seeking a compassionate and skilled Health Care Assistant to provide exceptional care to seniors in their homes. As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, as well as instrumental activities of daily living, like light housekeeping and meal preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with mobility and transferring patients safely
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families
- Monitor and report any changes in the client's condition to the healthcare team
- Administer medication reminders and medication under supervision
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Requirements:
- Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
- Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program
- Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a healthcare setting preferred
- Negative TB test completed in the past 90 days
- A negative Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred)
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
