About the Role

ePac Flexible Packaging Toronto ULC is seeking a skilled Plastics Machine Operator to join our team. As a Plastics Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various plastic processing machines, ensuring high-quality production and adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify and resolve issues with equipment, making minor adjustments as needed to ensure optimal performance.
  • Material Preparation: Weigh resins, colorants, and other chemicals according to formulae, and monitor the quality of materials produced.
  • Machine Operation: Operate mixing machines, calender machines, and extruding machines to blend plastic and other chemicals to a specific consistency and viscosity.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and monitor the quality of materials produced, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring that materials are readily available for production.
  • Equipment Setup and Operation: Set up and operate various machines, including calender machines and extruding machines, to produce high-quality plastic products.
  • Adaptability: Be prepared to adapt to changing production line requirements, adjusting equipment settings and procedures as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with exposure to dust, noise, and other hazards.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colors, perform repetitive tasks, and handle heavy loads.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, dependable, excellent oral communication skills, organized, and a team player.
Work Conditions
  • Work Schedule: 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Site Environment: Air-conditioned, dusty, and noisy.
