We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Group Home Worker to join our team at Amherst and District Residential Services Society. As a Group Home Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a group home setting.
Key Responsibilities- Housekeeping and Food Preparation: Assist with daily housekeeping activities, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Personal Care and Hygiene: Provide personal care and hygiene support to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications to clients as required.
- Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflict situations in a calm and professional manner.
- Supervision and Accompaniment: Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, and accompany clients to appointments and social outings.
- Client Support: Assist clients with special needs, including providing emotional support and encouragement.
- Certifications: Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Medication Administration Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and Food Safety Certificate.
- Screening Questions: Availability for shift or on-call work, availability for the advertised start date, current student status, previous experience in the field, and possession of required certifications.
- Night Shift Premium: Eligible for night shift premium.
- Work Term: Casual work term.
- Work Language: English language required.
- Hours: 15 to 48 hours per week.
