Automotive Technician

This role is responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair on customer and/or dealership vehicles. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing express vehicle maintenance, including replacing vehicle wiper blades and car batteries, and changing motor oil as well as transmission and brake fluid
- Determining the cause of any defects and completing approved repairs
- Communicating with the Service Advisor and/or Shop Foreman to provide updates regarding the vehicle, and/or of any additional required repair or maintenance, and/or if the repair cannot be completed within the prescribed time frame
- Documenting all vehicle repair and maintenance performed, on the repair order
- Road testing vehicles, as required
- Participating in all manufacturer and Company training programs; attending school and events sponsored by the manufacturer with approval from Management
- Keeping up-to-date on the manufacturer's technical bulletins
Ideal candidates will have a strong background and proven experience in the maintenance and repair of vehicles, including:
- 1 to 3 years of proven experience as a lube service technician
- Secondary School diploma, or equivalent experience
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Driver's License and clean Drivers Abstract
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate professionally (verbally and written)
- Strong attention to detail, organized and strategic
- Ability to maintain professionalism
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and driven with a passion for excellence in execution
- Desire to work in a high energy, fast-paced environment
- Proven commitment to quality of work
