Your Opportunity:

The Diagnostic Imaging department at Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist I, you will be responsible for producing and recording high-quality magnetic resonance images for interpretation by a Radiologist or Cardiologist. This role requires a strong technical knowledge and skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce and record magnetic resonance images for interpretation by a Radiologist or Cardiologist
  • Prepare and position patients for examination
  • Review patient history and explain procedures
  • Respond to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure
  • Maintain MRI equipment

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Connect Care and IMPAX proficiency
  • Volunteering for AHS DI Provincial Committees, Superuser training or additional responsibilities in the department
  • AHS annual continuing education and ACMDTT education requirements up to date and applicable additional courses
