Your Opportunity:

The Diagnostic Imaging department at Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist I to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing and recording high-quality magnetic resonance images for interpretation by radiologists and cardiologists. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and record magnetic resonance images for interpretation by radiologists and cardiologists
  • Prepare and position patients for examination, review patient history, and explain procedures
  • Respond to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure
  • Maintain MRI equipment and ensure it is functioning properly

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a diploma from an accredited Medical Resonance Imaging program or a certificate from an accredited MRI Technologist program plus a diploma from an accredited Program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a hospital setting and strong technical knowledge and skills
  • Connect Care and IMPAX proficiency
  • Volunteering for AHS DI Provincial Committees, Superuser training, or additional responsibilities in the department
