We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Assistant to join our Employment & Labour Department. The successful candidate will provide exceptional support to our lawyers, enhancing practice efficiency and delivering high-quality results. This role requires experience in an Employment & Labour practice, as well as strong administrative, communication, and multi-tasking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate document workflow, including drafting, formatting, and distributing documents, correspondence, and materials.
  • Manage the lawyers' Inbox and Calendar, staying up-to-date on file developments.
  • Provide administrative assistance and coordinate logistics for client meetings, travel, and hospitality arrangements.
  • Support client development activities, such as managing lawyer bios and updating client relationship databases.
  • Manage new file setup, including gathering and researching information for client intake processes and workspace management.
  • Receive, research, prepare for, and follow up on audit inquiries.
  • Perform other duties as required to achieve Firm objectives.

Requirements:

  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills to effectively multi-task and take initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and take full responsibility for assigned tasks.
  • Knowledge of legal procedures and Employment & Labour practice.
  • Solid drafting and proofreading skills.
